Wherever you are in the United Kingdom, and whatever the level, from TV watching on the sofa, to collecting medals on the podium, sport is a central part of millions of people’s lives.
We need to know that those who participate in sport are doing so fairly, safely and with integrity. UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) is on a mission to protect, encourage and support the clean athlete and to remove cheats from sport.
To help UKAD do its job well we need athletes to hold us to account, to help shape our policies and practices, and to help us ensure our work is understood and relatable to all.
We rely on the UKAD’s Athlete Commission to help us do this. The Commission has a vision of a UK where athletes perform in clean sport at their best, with pride and integrity. Members are passionate advocates for fair play at grass roots and elite levels. It is their role to help empower athletes, ensuring their voices are at heart of all UKAD delivers.
We have an exciting opportunity available for new athletes to join us.
Due to several Athlete Commission member’s terms coming to an end, we’re looking to recruit into our Athlete Commission. Both current and recently retired National-level athletes are invited to apply for this important opportunity.
We welcome applicants across all sports that receive anti-doping testing and education.

Job purpose
The UKAD Athlete Commission provides insight, ideas and advice on all matters of anti-doping.
Olympic, Paralympic and professional sports are all represented on the Commission, which has the responsibility to ensure the wider views of the athlete community are heard.
Members are appointed based on their experience of, and commitment to, anti-doping and their understanding of the national and/or international sporting environment. It's a broad and diverse group and has included members who have made doping mistakes, have received bans as a result, but are now willing to help others by sharing their experiences and advocating for clean sport.
Athlete Commission members meet 3 times a year to discuss a range of anti-doping matters and provide feedback to UKAD on its work. Ad hoc requests to help advocate for clean sport and spread awareness of UKAD and its work will be made too. On occasions there may be additional review or contribution required for advice/feedback about aspects of UKAD work outside of set meetings. Overall commitment will be no more than 6 days per year.
